Whoever said, “You’ll feel better in the morning” was right. Though we didn’t sleep super well, we woke up with a better outlook on our situation and the day ahead. Sam and I beat our chests and took a cold shower in the woods first thing in the morning when it was a “balmy” 50 degrees.
It seems as though French Bulldogs and teardrop trailers are rarities in the Western New York region.
We ran a few errands and we were stopped by several people along the way admiring both our dog and our camper. It seems as though French Bulldogs and teardrop trailers are rarities in the Western New York region.

No news had come in about the customs document we were still waiting on, so we figured we would go check out Niagara Falls. We were pleasantly surprised by how pet-friendly the state park is. Kiwi had a blast chasing after the black squirrels and seagulls that taunted her. She was back to her old self again.
The falls were beautiful despite the cloudy weather. We admired all the people enduring the Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist. For a moment we considered how much fun that could be, but without a guaranteed hot shower in the near future, we figured we were getting just what we wanted from our visit.
It had been a very good day.
We debated where to camp next for the night. East Otto was still about an hour drive out. Though we felt comfortable going back there, we figured we’d burn through a bit of gas just getting there and back. Our logic was that we may as well pay for a campsite nearby. We were surprised to see how much campgrounds were charging for even their most basic sites, but then again, it is a tourist destination and people LOVE their RV’s in that part of the state. We settled on a quaint camping resort called Branches on Grand Island. There, we cooked ourselves a fabulous meal over the fire followed by s’mores for dessert. After dark, we took some time to stroll the grounds with a cocktail and enjoy the stars. It had been a very good day.

Love your camper. Too bad you have to wait for your paperwork. I am sure you are anxious to get going.
