The first big step in this journey of ours is to figure out what to do with all of our stuff. We hated to leave our apartment in Brooklyn, but we just couldn’t justify paying rent for months without actually living there. So, we decided to pack it all up, and drive it up to a storage unit in Baldwinsville, NY where my family is.
A huge and hearty thanks to a few people for helping us with this step: Dencie, Parker, Julia, Thomas, Beast, Skip, and my dad.
A huge and hearty thanks to a few people for helping us with this step: Dencie, Parker, Julia, Thomas, Beast, Skip, and my dad. Also, a big thank you to both of my parents who have graciously put us up (and helped look after Kiwi) while we waited to hear when we could finally pick up our teardrop trailer in Buffalo, NY.

The downtime in the Syracuse area made us fall a little bit in love with the area. It’s been wonderful spending lots of time with my parents, my grandmother and great-aunt, my sister and her husband, and of course, their three beautiful kids. We took a bike ride with my parents around Onondaga Lake and stopped for hotdogs at Heid’s – a Syracuse area staple!
We learned that our trailer won’t be ready until Oct 2nd – a bit later than we hoped. Since we have a little time to kill, we figured we would zip out to the Boston area to visit some family over the weekend.
